Review:
In "Migration," Mack Mallard, voiced by Kumail Nanjiani, struggles to keep his adventurous family of mallards confined to their New England pond, but wife Pam (Elizabeth Banks), son Dax (Caspar Jennings), and daughter Gwen (Tresi Gazal) yearn for exploration.
When invited by migratory ducks to journey to Jamaica, Mack reluctantly agrees, accompanied by lazy Uncle Dan (Danny DeVito). The film, helmed by writer Mike White and director Benjamin Renner, balances teamwork and overcoming fears with humor and heartwarming moments, captivating audiences from start to finish.
The movie's visual charm, reminiscent of a storybook, appeals to both young and adult viewers, seamlessly blending simplicity with sophistication. While the adventure unfolds quickly and engagingly, some sequences, like the chef's storyline, feel drawn out. However, stunning visuals, complemented by a talented voice cast including Awkwafina, Michael Keegan Key, and Carol Kane, elevate the film's appeal, with standout performances from Nanjiani, Banks, and DeVito.
Despite its formulaic nature, "Migration" remains enjoyable and captivating, best experienced on the big screen in 3D. Audiences are treated to a delightful short film featuring the Minions before the main feature, adding to the overall entertainment value.
